FIRST CALL INITIATIVE

• In cooperation with one of the large International Group P&I Clubs and its Membership, SHUMAN coordinated a three-year pilot program of providing medical assistance to crewmembers of a fleet of foreign-flagged ships insured by the Club and regularly calling in ports located in the Southeastern U.S. and Gulf of Mexico.  SHUMAN also audited/negotiated the medical charges, obtained significant reductions, and dramatically reduced the number of crewmember repatriations previously experienced by the vessel fleet.  FIRST CALL is the culmination of the very impressive metrics of the successful pilot program.

• Through FIRST CALL, SHUMAN coordinates 24/7 medical assistance to crew members of specific ships calling in U.S. ports from Savannah, GA to Brownsville, TX.
